1st November 2017:-  The Josephians dignified guests, parents, sisters and fathers from aborad joined together as a family to celebrate another milestone in the history of St. Joseph’s Convent School. This year is remarkable in the history of St. Joseph’s School as we celebrate 200 years of the foundation of Sisters of Our Lady of Providence. They gathered to celebrate Sangam 2017, depicting universal brotherhood and togetherness to promote peace and harmony in society.

The grand celebration was organized in the senior school premises at 4.30p.m with full zest and fervor. The Chief Guest of the evening Rt. Rev. Sr. Gracy, the Mother General of the congregation of Our Lady of Providence kindly consented to the guest of honour. Sr. Meera, the manager of our school, Sr. Leelamma, the Provincial and the President of the School.  Sr. Maria Anne and other guests from abroad graced the evening by their benign presence.

The evening commenced with welcoming the Chief Guest, Guest of honour and other dignified guests presented in the arena by a welcome dance and welcome address by Sr. Sheela our honorable Principal.  This was followed by lighting of the  lamp which was followed by the budding Josephians dancing to tune on the beats of “We are, we are gathered here….”  This was followed a prayer dance that raised our minds and spirits to God, the author of beauty and harmony.

The blooming starts enthralled the audience by displaying their talents with fun filled energy and vigour on the beats of “The more we get together…. The happier will be and ‘I would like to teach the world to sing.

Qawali : Na Muh chupkhe jiyo….. left the audience awestruck Mother Elizabeth – Deeno ki Maa.  A dance drama presented by the Josephians was a remarkable depiction of how our sisters of Our Lady of Providence are serving humanity through their dedication to the education of the young and the empowerment of the poor.  The artists on stage enacted how father ‘du Rupt and Mother Elizabeth Vassel in 1817 in France still continuous to spread the message of universal brotherhood.  Sr. Gracy through her message motivated and encouraged the children to be kind and compassionate towards, everyone making the world a better place to  live in.

The students of VI-VIII presented Cheraw Dance, which is the most enchanting form of folk dance, is inspired by nature mimicking the swaying of trees and flying of birds, representing the culture of Mizoram.

Then through an audio visual presentation, the audience had a look at the great strides the school has made in the last three years in different fields accomplishing big and small tasks by hard work. Perseverance and God’s blessings.  The budding stars (II-V) highlighted the importance of peace and fraternity through the famous song “Ishwar allah tere jeham me nafrath kyo hai jaghai kyo? Placing a question before the audience. “God is so loving, his heart id so big, why are the heart of human beings so small and so closed.

Then the Chief Guest in his message inspired the Josephians with his enlightening words.  He was then felicitated by Sr. Meera with a memento. He also released a documentary on the sisters of Our lady of Providence, for the bicentenary of congregation.  Then a cultural fusion was presented by the students that mesmerized the audiences.
