Sangam’ the school function of St. Joseph’s Convent School was conducted in the school campus on 4th December. The function was presided over by the Bishop of Varanasi Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Raphy Manjaly who was the chief guest. The S.S.P. of Varanasi Mr. B. D. Paulson I.P.S. was the guest of honour.

The guests were welcomed through a south Indian folk dance Karagattam and was followed by lighting of the lamp. The Vice Captain of the school Bushra Ansari gave the welcome speech. It was followed by a variegated programme. The special attraction of the function was Jungle Dance which focused on environmental issue, an action song on world peace and a dance on the theme of national integration by the students of the Hindi Medium.

Robot and Barbie Doll also got appreciation from all. The school choir presented two melodious songs one in Hindi and one in English along with a mind blowing Orchestra. The achievements and activities of the school was shown through a power point presentation.

‘Puraskar ’ a play written by the famous writer Jaishankar Prasad was also staged. It was directed by Mr. Motilal Gupta.

The chief guest and the guest of honour were honoured by presenting mementoes and shawls.

The meritorious students of the school were honoured by the chief guest and the guest of honour. Gaurav Srivastava, the district topper in I.S.C Board examination was awarded by the chief guest. Shivangi  Singh , the gold medalist with new recored in Javelin Throw at the National Atheletic Meet of I.S.C. schools was awarded by the Guest of  Honour.

Sr. Theresa the principal of the school gave the message on the importance of value education in schools. The students anchored the programme and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Anshula Srivastava. The programme concluded with the national song “Sare Jahan se achcha”.
